" My precious"

I currently have a Samsung ZV10 cell phone; to me it has been the greatest phone that I have owned. Now I need to upgrade my Vodacom Top up contract, but I cannot decide on which phone I want to take. My phone has been through two years of hard work, good times and bad times. It has been dropped several times and it even rolled down my drive way. My cell phone currently has sticky tape holding the battery to the phone, but I still cannot part with it. It has great features such as 3G and it is a Vodafone live cell phone, that means I can browse the internet for free and it the internet connection is as fast as ADSL. It also has video calling which is my favourite feature , I have a sister in Pretoria and a boyfriend in Durban while I live in Pietermaritzburg , so I want to see them I just video call them and instantly I can see and talk to them. It is fantastic. My cell phone also can multitask, meaning I can make a call and send a sms at the same time or simply switch from internet to make a call by a click of a button. I am also able to able to listen to my favourite music via the MP3 player. It has other “basic” features such as sms, mms, camera, video camera, games, internet and Bluetooth. I never thought I would become so attached to my mobile phone.

Don't hold your phone too tight, Chick. . You know its just a mechanical devise up until it is charged and switched on - only then does it become a cellphone. You have to make sure its alive first - I think yours is on life support right now (it needs sticky tape to stay alive until you go for operation - which means fixing it).

I got a Samsung Z500; our cellphone are related and share similar features (3G, video calling, etc) and I must say, they do add a difference once you've experience them. I'm sure you wouldn't want any phone, when getting a new one, that isn't capable of doing such features; infact, I believe that you might want something that does all these tasks and also more.Make a wise choice. . .

Also say something about culture and society and how the introduction of cellphones, particularly these which have all these extras included in them - like, the glits and glam and how people are divided by them.

Some commit crimes in order to participate in the Digital Era; cellphone have a major role in the digital era, don't you think?

phones totally confuse me.well not just phones, technology in general.i am totally clueless. i have a nokia 5200, which i think is an ok phone. at first the only reason i got the phone was becausei saw T.I'carry the phone in the music video for "do it"!i thought, wow what a pretty phone. it was different, and white, which is my favourite colour. that is the only reason i got the phone. which is so weird because, most people my age and even younger know everything about every phone.they know about all the cool features and have like 1000 reasons why or why not to get a certain phone. i wish i knew how to take full advantage of all the features on my phone. i don't even take pictures or videos. the only reason why i am attached to my phone is beacuse i receive alot of phone calls from my friends, parents and boyfriend. if it wasn't for the calls, i doubt i would even have a phone. well, and not forgetting mxit of course. i got really addicted to that thing during vac, which irritates my mom beacuse she just doesn't understand why i am so hooked on my phone, which i laugh at really beacuse if she only knew how little i really care about the phone.

as far as i am concerned phones are only good for receiving and making calls and smses of course. however, recently i have been trying to make full use of my phone, i now walk around campus with my earphones on listening to music, it helps with the bordom of having nothing to do between lectures. one thing i do enjoy now is bluetoothing music onto my phone.ilove music and i just have to have the most recent song as my ring tone.
basically i want to learn more about my phone because i am sure there is more to it then just mxit and music.

"Wow, were would i be without my cellphone" this is a statement that many people say. I think that people value thier cellpone too much, in a way cellphone have ebcome our little gods. They have been able to control our lives without us even knowing its happened.

Dont get me wrong, i don't hate cellphones but i sometimes hate what they have done to our society. My littile cousin is 6 and he worships his cellphone. Even though he is in the process on learning how to read and write, he surly knows all the function on his cellphone, from sending a please call me to taking photo's and sending an mms. But he has difficulty having a normal conversation with other people. Cellphones are great tool for communicating but they have also had the abilty to make people dumb e.g sms language is crazey
