cell phone in exam situations

With the good comes the bad, people always say, and that is true when it comes to new technology like the cell phone. For students it has been useful when it comes to contacting a lecturer or a class mate and through the use of the internet as well for social purposes where applications such as MXIT, Migg and Facebook are concerned. Students have taken the technology a step into the wrong direction by using cell phones to cheat in exams. The student takes their cell phone into the exam and text messages other students asking for answer. The student can also ask a person outside the exam room for a specific piece of information from the student’s notes. Cell phones are so advanced and the memory capacity has increased over the years that a student can easily save a whole semester’s workload onto their cell phone. It has become a common problem in most countries where technology is developed but lecturers and teachers have caught onto this devious fact and have banned all cell phones from exam rooms. This does not affect class test unfortunately that are held in the lecture room. Students will face disciplinary if he or she is caught with a cell phone in an exam room whether he or she was cheating or not.

The dangers of cellphone use. People get so tempted to even do wrong things that will crush their lives. This shows that every new thing that is established, people always want to extend its intended use.

yes cellphones are in alot of instances a bad influence for students, people will spend more time on their ohone than on their studies or work that they have to do.
the good uses of cellphones are that it allows people to communicate in much simpler ways and easier.

I met a guy in first year who told me out right that he was going to cheat in the exam using his cellphone. I asked him if he was worried about getting caught and he said that they hadn't caught him before so why stop. Beware their are sneaky ones lurking

This is very true about cell phones that with the good comes the bad. This truly is a big problem in academic institutions. I really don't blame these authorities for placing a high penalty for those that break the rules.

Even though we are not allowed cell phones in exam venues and test venues, I would not be surprised if people still do. When we go into an exam venue we are not physically checked. People could still cheat when going off to the bathroom in the middle of an exam.
It's so easy to do and I am sure every person has thought about it. It's a pity these things are so cool yet could get us into a lot of trouble.
